And finally, they wanted a beautiful backyard. A space that beckoned them outdoors. A place they could be proud to entertain in and enjoy year round.
Backyard Design Consultation
We met with the homeowners at their home for their Free Design Consultation. We walked the property and talked extensively with them about how they envisioned using their backyard. We also browsed our portfolio with them, making notes of what they liked and disliked.
We discussed practical needs as well, like space for pets and potential property extensions or changes in the future. They were very involved in the process and eager to help us understand their vision. When we had a strong sense of their personal style and needs, we created a custom backyard design that would transform their blank slate into a backyard paradise.

The end result was a dream backyard they can enjoy in every season!
New Pool and Spa
Their new pool is a freeform design with natural curves that make good use of space. The freeform curves allow for different zones in the pool, making it a very versatile. The spa is a spacious 5-seater, raised above the pool with a spill-over water feature.
Beneath the spa is a large tanning ledge. A tanning ledge is a shallow area in the pool that is ideal for lounging in the water without fully immersing yourself. Some choose to move lounge chairs onto the ledge to keep cool while sunning. Others choose to use the tanning ledge for a shallow play and splash area. This is great for dogs and small kids.
This tanning ledge has bubblers- a gentle water jet that is immersed so the water bubbles gently over the surface. Bubblers are loved by kids and pets. They’re also a beautiful and soothing water feature that creates a lovely ripple across the entire pool.
They chose a beautiful travertine tile and coping that blends well with the pool deck, rock features, and nearby seating areas. They also opted for custom pool lighting that allows them to change the color of the pool to suit their mood. We love the deep blue shades, and the pink lights on the bubblers bring instant personality to the pool!
Custom Built Rock Waterfall
The rock waterfall creates a nice grotto area in the pool. It’s beautiful to look at and brings a wonderful atmosphere to the pool area. Can’t you just hear the water cascading over the rocks into the pool? The lighting has been carefully positioned to feature the waterfall at night.
Water & Fire Features
In addition to the waterfall, the pool also features bubblers (as mentioned above). This a popular water feature because it’s fun for kids and pets to play in while also bringing a beautiful movement to the pool water. This bubbler is backlit for a truly breathtaking effect.
The Fire Bowls are mounted on each side of the rock waterfall. Their open flames bring an exotic feel to the pool area. These fire bowls combine the allure of fire and water by including a sheer waterfall. The overall effect is very inviting and a good way to set the mood of the backyard.
Poolside Fire Pit & Seating Area
Overlooking the pool’s spa and tanning ledge is a custom fire pit with wraparound seating. It’s finished in the same travertine tile and brings a warmth and atmosphere to the pool deck. This is the perfect way to enjoy the pool even when it’s too cold for a swim! With it’s open flame and cozy seating, it’s the ideal spot to pass an evening with friends- summer or winter!
Covered Patio
A large covered patio was built onto the back of the home, giving space for an outdoor living area next to an outdoor kitchen.
This covered patio overlooks the pool and features a gable roof, ceiling fans and mounted sound system and tv.
March madness, baseball, football- it’s all happening here all year long. This covered patio allows the homeowner to entertain in style no matter the weather.
Outdoor Kitchen
The outdoor kitchen completes the covered patio and includes everything you’d want for cooking and dining al fresco. It featurse built in sink, stainless steel storage, refrigerator, gas grill, stove, and ceramic grill and smoker. Its finished in the same stone as the pool and fire pit area for a seemless backyard design that blends perfectly with the home’s exterior. From casual BBQ’s to full scale holiday feasts- this kitchen can handle it!
